Dubarry – helping Green Dragon to stay one step ahead

Dubarry of Ireland is the Official Footwear & Luggage Supplier to Green Dragon Racing for the Volvo Ocean
Race 2008-09.

Dubarry is a name that needs little introduction to those that sail. Their reputation as a leading brand of
performance marine footwear is evidenced by observing the dominance of their GORE-TEX® lined boots at
regattas the world over.

Whether out on the water or socializing shore side after a hard days sailing Dubarry offers
a wide choice of footwear and now a NEW collection of clothing and luggage for all weather conditions and occasions (see www.dubarry.com).

Dubarry’s Marketing Director, Michael Walsh said “Being involved with Green Dragon Racing is a perfect fit
for Dubarry. An “against the odds” West of Ireland inspired initiative to not only get a boat into the race
but to also include Galway as a stopover port is a remarkable achievement. Being based in County Galway
ourselves, the ocean is never far from our lives. With the harsh Atlantic storms that have carved the
coastline and landscape over the millennia, we have always looked to the west for inspiration in our
product development. Dubarry understands the sea, its power and majesty. Ian Walker and his crew will
encounter some exceptional conditions in this round the world race; we are delighted that Dubarry
products will be used by them to help stay one step ahead.”

Commenting from onboard Green Dragon in the mid Atlantic skipper Ian Walker stated 'In the
heavy weather conditions for the start in Alicante, the crew were glad to have our Dubarry
Fastnet sailing boots to keep our feet warm and dry, now that we are sailing in the hot and lighter
conditions we have changed to our Dubarry Aquasport Racers.'
