Boat shoes are easily slipped on and off, and as such a looser fit gives quick access to your shoes. The lacing system also allows for socks or bare feet depending on your style and the temperature. Instead of traditional shoe lacing you may like to try barrel knot lacing your boat shoes. Laces knotted close to the shoe will secure the fit more tightly. For a looser fit leave a slighter longer length of lace before the knot.

Boat shoes are traditionally and usually worn without socks, but they lend themselves just as well to wearing socks, which gives you two separate looks to suit your activities.

Wearing socks will help absorb moisture if you are planning on casual or physical activity in hot weather when you may sweat. If you prefer the no sock look then there are plenty of ‘no show’ socks on the market that will sit below the shoe line.
